Frequently Asked Questions
- How much does custom 3D printing cost?
- Pricing is by weight, and the per-gram rate is all-in — filament and machine time together. PLA, PETG and ABS are $0.12/g; TPU is $0.13 and ASA $0.14. A 21g PLA part is simply 21 × $0.12 = $2.52. A typical desk-sized object in PLA costs $6–$18 plus $7 shipping — free over $50 — and you see the exact price before checkout.
- What file formats do you accept?
- We accept STL, GLB, and 3MF meshes, plus an already-sliced Bambu/Orca plate exported as .gcode.3mf (bare .gcode cannot be queued on the farm). OBJ is not accepted for printing — convert it to STL first, which every CAD and mesh tool can do. STL is the most common format from CAD software. If you have a different format, our AI generator can help you create a printable file from a text description or image.
- How fast do you ship?
- Most orders ship within 1–2 business days from our print farm in Austin, Texas. We use USPS Priority Mail for domestic orders, which typically delivers in 2–3 additional days. Expedited shipping is available at checkout.
- What's the maximum print size?
- Our printers have a build volume of 340 × 320 × 340 mm. For larger objects, we can split your model into multiple parts and assemble them. Contact us for oversized projects.
- PLA vs PETG — which should I choose?
- PLA is best for decorative items, prototypes, and anything that won't be exposed to heat or impact. PETG is stronger, more flexible, and UV-stable — choose it for functional parts, outdoor use, or items that need to withstand stress. PLA is cheaper and produces a smoother finish.
- Is your manufacturing really solar-powered?
- Yes. Our print farm in Austin, TX runs on 100% solar energy, making every print net-zero carbon. We're committed to sustainable manufacturing — our PLA filament is also plant-based and biodegradable.
- Do you offer bulk or production-run pricing?
- Yes! For orders of 50+ units, check out our Print Farm page for bulk pricing, dedicated capacity, and API access. We offer volume discounts starting at 20% off.
